No, I don’t mean the holiday season…although that is pretty wonderful. I mean that it’s almost time for the US Masters National Championships. This annual event, which will determine the US Masters champions from ages 30 to over 80 in each of the long track events, will be held at the Pettit National Ice Center on January 3 and 4, 2015. It’s a great way for masters skaters of all ages and levels to test themselves, hang out with other “mature” skaters, and watch some really good racing.
Here is an email from event organizer and masters skater Olusegun Sijuwade:
Hello competitors,
The 2015 US Masters National Championships, hosted by the Pettit National Ice Center, will be here in less than two weeks. Entry deadline is December 31,2014, with the Pettit online payment receipt as the deadline confirmation. If you send in your entry and pay after December 31, you will have to pay the $150 late fee to race.
We are looking forward to seeing the growing pool of upcoming, elite, and enthusiast Masters age speed skaters post personal best performances. We will again host at least two other countries, so masters world records can be set at this meet.
I am sending copies of the application. If you know of someone that still wants to compete, please pass along this form. I am also sending the ongoing roster link:
for your review. Please email me at couragetraining@gmail.com if you see corrections need to be made.
Thanks, and I will see you all on competition dates January 3–4,2015.
Olu
And here’s the announcement/entry form
